Two ways in

One of these is time-limited and one is open to every alumnus. Neither requires the other.

The Founding Committee

Roughly a dozen alumni will actually run this. One seat is filled. The rest are open, and we would rather they go to the men who raise their hands.

  • What it decides: how dues revenue is allocated, how regional volunteer leadership works, what success looks like and how it is measured, and how the rest of the Founding Committee gets built.
  • Who we need: recent graduates, mid-career and senior alumni, house corporation members and chapter advisors by name, and regional leaders across the country.
  • The commitment: roughly 2 to 4 hours a month on a one-year term, most of it by virtual meetings.

Become a Founding Member

Membership is open to every Delt alumnus.

  • What you get: A say in what this becomes. The Founding Committee is building member benefits in the order alumni ranked them in the survey: professional development, community, lifestyle and travel, health and wellbeing, and financial planning. Members hear about each one as it becomes real, not before.
  • What it costs: There are no costs during the founding period. The Founding Committee will set dues later, and members will be told the amount before they are asked to pay. Once dues begin, they will fund specific initiatives, including a regional rally program, chapter-level alumni events, and the national database that helps connect members with each other.
  • Founding Members: Everyone who joins before dues begin is a Founding Member of the Association. That is a permanent part of your record, and it means you were here when the building started.

Joining is free and no payment is collected. You will sign in to myDelt first. If you have never used myDelt, you will be asked to claim your account before the form appears. It takes about two minutes and uses the email the Fraternity has on file. Claim your account here.

What this is

A structure, not a sentiment. Delta Tau Delta has always been good at making brothers. It has never been consistently good at keeping them connected. This is the connective infrastructure that closes that gap.

Proof of a promise. Every fraternity tells its members that brotherhood lasts a lifetime. Until now, ours had nothing built behind that claim.

A beginning. This is not the unveiling of a finished product. It is supposed to be shaped by the men who join it.

What this isn't

Not a new layer above your work. House corporation members and chapter advisors are already doing this work. The Association is built to give you more support, not more oversight. Central Office enables; alumni own.

Not a fundraising ask. Dues are a value exchange, not a donation. Giving to the Educational Foundation is a separate thing and stays separate.

Not finished. Several things on this page are still being decided, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

None of these is finished. We are listing them because members ranked them, and we would rather show you the order than promise you the result.

Questions

Asked the way you would ask them

Does this replace what my house corporation or chapter advisor already does?

No. You are already doing the work this Association exists to support. Nothing about how your chapter's alumni relationships or house corporation are run changes. What changes is what sits behind you: a national database you can actually use to find your chapter's alumni, communications and event infrastructure you no longer have to build yourself, and a seat at the table where decisions about all of this get made. Central Office enables; alumni own. If it ever starts to feel like oversight, tell us, because that is a sign we have built it wrong.

Is this just fundraising with better branding?

No. Membership is free during the founding period, and nothing on this page asks you for money. When the Founding Committee sets dues, they will pay for things you can name: the regional rally program, alumni programming at the chapter level, and the national database that makes finding your people possible. You will get something specific for your money, which is exactly why dues will not be a gift and will not be tax-deductible. Giving to the Educational Foundation is separate, run by a separate organization, and it stays that way.

We have heard promises like this before. Why is this different?

Fair. Several initiatives have launched with fanfare and faded, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Two things are different this time. First, it is being built in the open: this page tells you what has not been decided yet rather than hiding it. Second, it is not being built by Central Office alone. The Founding Committee is alumni, the decisions are theirs, and the first thing they will decide is what success looks like and how it gets measured. If that measure is not met, you will know.

I already have my own Delt network. Why do I need this?

You may not, and that is fine. We believe Delta Tau Delta has one of the strongest alumni communities in the fraternity world. It has just never been connected. If your network is already working for you, the Association is not asking you to replace it. It is asking whether the brother who graduated from a chapter you have never visited, in a city you just moved to, has the same thing you have. Most of them do not, and that is the gap this is built to close.

Who runs this Association?

A Founding Committee of roughly a dozen alumni, being seated this fall through the application on this page. Central Office and the Educational Foundation each hold a non-voting liaison seat. Officer roles, term lengths, and the reporting cadence are among the first things the Founding Committee will settle, and they will be published here when they are.

What happens to my information?

It stays in myDelt, the Fraternity's existing member system, which is where it already lives. Joining the Association adds a membership record to your existing profile; it does not create a second database or hand your information to anyone outside the Fraternity. If a member directory is built, it will be visible to members only, and you will control what appears in it. Partner benefits, when they exist, will require your opt-in before any partner sees anything about you.

What comes next

This page is temporary. The Association is not.
